Electronics Application Engineer

About the role

The Electronics Application Engineer will provide application support and technical solutions for electronic and electro‑hydraulic systems worldwide. Working from Bosch Rexroth’s HydraForce facility in Birmingham, you will collaborate with sales, customers and internal teams to deliver reliable hydraulic control solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Review, advise and process system requests, including new or modified product specifications.
• Integrate electro‑hydraulic control systems with OEM‑specific electronic architectures.
• Develop project documentation, statements of work and application‑specific software, and support field testing and optimisation.
• Provide technical advice to customers and internal departments, and assist with hands‑on troubleshooting and commissioning.
• Liaise with sales, suppliers and international colleagues to coordinate project progress and report activities.

Required profile

• MEng in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Proven experience with hydraulic and electronic systems in the mobile equipment market.
• Strong knowledge of functional safety standards for mobile machines (EU Machinery Directive, DIN EN ISO 13849, DIN EN ISO 25119).
• Previous exposure to a sales environment is advantageous.

Required skills

• C and C++ programming.
• Matlab Simulink and CoDeSys.
• Electronics design and field‑bus systems.
• Hydraulic valve and electro‑hydraulic system expertise.
• Experience with MRP systems and Microsoft Office suite.
