Embedded Software Developer

About the role

We are looking for an early‑career Embedded Software Developer to join a supportive engineering team working on mission‑critical hardware for national security and defence. You will gain hands‑on experience with ESP32, Raspberry Pi and ARM microcontrollers while being coached by senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain bespoke software on embedded platforms (ESP32, Raspberry Pi, ARM‑based boards).
• Write clean C, C++ and/or Python code, following peer‑review and Git governance.
• Assist with hardware interfacing (UART/serial, GPIO, USB, SPI, I2C) and peripheral bring‑up.
• Participate in lab testing, debugging, and on‑site support for customer deployments.
• Contribute to requirements refinement, feature implementation, and secure integration.
• Maintain documentation and traceable development artefacts.

Required profile

• Hands‑on programming experience from academic projects, hobby work, internships or prior roles.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Python.
• Interest or experience in embedded systems development.
• Basic understanding of hardware interfaces such as serial, GPIO, SPI/I2C.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and debugging fundamentals.
• Problem‑solving mindset and willingness to learn.
