Emergency Medicine Physician – Medical Emergency Team

About the role

Join the Medical Emergency Team (MET) at Surrey Memorial Hospital, a high‑volume acute care environment within Fraser Health. You will provide rapid, expert care to inpatients in critical condition and collaborate closely with the Critical Care department.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Code Blue events as Code Team Leader and Most Responsible Physician for admitted patients.
• Respond promptly to all inpatient medical emergencies, including stroke and contrast reactions.
• Perform advanced critical care procedures such as airway management, central catheter placement, drainage catheter insertion, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Provide clinical support to the Intensive Care Unit under the supervision of the on‑call intensivist.
• Participate in teaching and training programs for residents, fellows, and medical staff.
• Collaborate on evidence‑based protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and research projects.

Required profile

• Full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) or US‑certified class of registration.
• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Emergency Medicine or related specialty.
• Interest in acute care, critical care procedures, and medical education.
