Engineering Assessor – Mechanical & Electrical (Temporary, Full‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineers to join a leading further‑education provider as Engineering Assessors. In this temporary full‑time position you will deliver high‑quality assessment, coaching and support to learners pursuing Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering qualifications, preparing them for their End Point Assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct structured assessment visits in workplace settings.
• Observe, assess and document learner skills, knowledge and behaviours using practical observation, professional discussion and portfolio building.
• Provide developmental feedback, monitor progression and maintain up‑to‑date records.
• Prepare learners for EPA and support their readiness for the final assessment.
• Participate in standardisation meetings and CPD sessions to uphold quality standards.

Required profile

• Strong industry background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Multi‑Skilled Engineering.
• Relevant Level 3 (or higher) technical qualification.
• Experience mentoring, supervising or training others within an engineering environment.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Willingness to undergo DBS checks and complete safeguarding training.
