Engineering Manager - Building Services

About the role

The Engineering Manager – Building Services will lead the delivery and maintenance of electrical and mechanical plant services for client‑occupied buildings in the City of London. Reporting to the Account Manager, you will ensure contractual commitments are met, health and safety standards are upheld, and the service team operates efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership to meet and exceed contractual commitments.
• Identify and exploit opportunities for strategic contract development.
• Implement and review health and safety processes for clients and the company.
• Staff contracts with fully competent teams and develop financial plans for revenue, profit, and cost reduction.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and promote company values.
• Support sales through solution development, presentations, and mobilisation of new contracts.
• Supervise day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of electrical and mechanical plant services, including PPM and reactive works.
• Manage the engineering team across shifts, directing engineers and subcontractors.
• Collect weekly building load readings, assess UPS and HV/LV systems, and report anomalies.
• Maintain shift logs, subcontractor visit records, and incident escalation procedures.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly engineering reports highlighting significant events and concerns.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in facilities or building services engineering.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and implementation.
• Ability to develop and manage contract financial plans.
• Excellent customer‑focus and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience supporting sales and contract mobilisation activities.
