Equipment Tech Lead - Epitaxy

About the role

The Equipment Technical Lead is responsible for the reliability, performance and continuous improvement of MOCVD manufacturing equipment in a high‑performance production environment. Working closely with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities and R&D, the role ensures equipment uptime, process stability and safe delivery of production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for MOCVD equipment, setting performance and reliability standards.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex tool issues and drive timely resolution.
• Partner with tool owners to identify, prioritize and implement equipment improvements that boost stability and productivity.
• Review CAPEX proposals and continuous‑improvement plans to ensure strong technical justification and business value.
• Lead change‑management activities such as DCNs, ECNs, PCNs, PFMEAs and control plans.
• Provide data‑driven technical presentations to management and cross‑functional stakeholders.

Required profile

• 7+ years of equipment engineering or maintenance leadership experience in a MOCVD manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of improving tool reliability, uptime and performance.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to influence without direct authority.
• Effective communicator able to work with engineers, technicians, management and external partners.

Required skills

• MOCVD reactor systems, vacuum systems and metrology tools.
• Preventive maintenance strategy and lifecycle management.
• Tool installation, qualification, upgrade and process transfer.
• Root‑cause analysis, corrective actions and PFMEA.
• Change‑management documentation (DCN, ECN, PCN, control plans).
