Estates Surveyor – Contract (Welwyn Garden City)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Estates Surveyor to join our client on a long‑term contract based in Welwyn Garden City. The role works directly with the local council and requires a dynamic professional capable of handling fast‑paced property matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage covenant and deed releases, ensuring compliance with local regulations and historic restrictions.
• Oversee rent reviews and provide technical support to the team.
• Conduct property valuations for freehold reversion and lease extensions under the Leasehold Reform and Urban Development Act 1993 and the Leasehold Reform Act 1967.
• Engage with local residents and businesses to facilitate lease extensions and manage related transactions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Estates Surveyor, particularly in commercial landlord‑tenant engagements.
• Strong technical knowledge of covenant releases, consents and rent review processes.
• Experience in property valuation for lease extensions and freehold reversions.
• Excellent understanding of the local property market.
• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Real Estate or a related field.
• Membership of a recognised professional body such as RICS (MRICS or FRICS) is highly desirable.
