Estimator

About the role

We are looking for an Estimator to join our Construction team in Witham, Essex. The role sits at the heart of tender creation, helping to deliver profitable projects for our clients and communities. You will play a vital role in shaping successful tenders that bring value to our clients and communities while working closely with design, planning, commercial and bid management colleagues in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Estimate project costs and required resources.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to minimise risk and maximise profit.
• Support the preparation and submission of tenders, collaborating with design, planning and commercial teams.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, contractors and suppliers throughout the tender process.
• Guide junior team members and share best practice across the estimating team.
• Participate in project handovers to ensure smooth transitions to delivery teams.

Required profile

• Experience working within a main contractor, ideally Tier 2 or above.
• Proficiency in Excel and estimating system software.
• Conscientious approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Enjoy collaborative work and building relationships across teams.
• Passionate about innovative solutions and delivering quality outcomes.
• Transferable skills are welcome even if not all criteria are met.
