Experienced Autism Support Worker

About the role

Join an inclusive mainstream school in Basildon to provide dedicated support for young people with autism and other special educational needs. The role starts in September and runs at least until July 2027, with the possibility of a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one and group support for pupils with EHCPs and high‑level needs.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, senior leaders and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Implement personalised strategies that address trauma‑informed approaches and promote positive behaviour.
• Monitor progress, record observations and contribute to individual education plans.
• Participate in regular CPD sessions and school‑wide training initiatives.

Required profile

• At least six months of experience supporting SEN or autistic children in a school or similar setting.
• Compassionate, caring and dedicated to the inclusive education of all pupils.
• Team‑player who can work collaboratively and contribute to a culture of kindness and support.
• Committed to ongoing professional development and learning.
