Facades Manager – Construction (External Envelope)

About the role

The Facades Manager will lead the delivery of the external envelope on a high‑profile hotel and leisure development in Brighton. Reporting to the site delivery team, you will coordinate design, installation, testing and handover of all façade systems, ensuring safety, quality and budget compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver all façade and external envelope works.
• Manage subcontractors for curtain walling, glazing, rainscreen cladding, SFS, insulation and related interfaces.
• Oversee sequencing of façade installation in line with the overall construction programme.
• Collaborate with site teams, design managers and project management to ensure buildability.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and resolve design/interface issues.
• Chair and attend regular façade progress, coordination and design meetings.
• Monitor installation quality through inspections, QA processes and snagging.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, RAMS and site procedures.
• Manage testing requirements such as air‑tightness, water testing and fire‑stopping.
• Track progress, report risks and proactively resolve delays.
• Support procurement, material tracking and logistics planning.
• Maintain commercial awareness to deliver within budget and scope.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing façade/external envelope packages on major construction projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of curtain walling, cladding, glazing, SFS and related interfaces.
• Experience with a main contractor or specialist façade subcontractor.
• Understanding of sequencing on large‑scale building projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and design information.
• Excellent coordination and communication across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of H&S procedures, RAMS and site compliance.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certification preferred.
