Family Court Adviser – Public & Private Law (Remote, £38/hr)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join our dedicated Family Court team in Newcastle. The role focuses on child‑centred court assessments, voice‑of‑the‑child advocacy, and high‑level safeguarding within both public and private law proceedings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare thorough Section 7 and safeguarding reports for public and private law care proceedings.
• Engage directly with children and young people to represent their views, wishes, and feelings in court.
• Provide expert advocacy for child welfare, advising magistrates and judges to support safe, permanent decisions.
• Collaborate with legal representatives, local authority social‑care teams, and external agencies.

Required profile

• Active registration with Social Work England.
• Minimum three years post‑qualifying experience in statutory Children’s Social Care (e.g., child protection, court work, looked‑after children, or CAFCASS).
• Demonstrated competence in writing analytical court reports (Section 7, Rule 16.4, or care proceedings) and giving evidence in court.
