Field Engineer - IT Support

About the role

Air IT Group is looking for a Field Engineer to provide on-site IT support across customer sites in the South, including scheduled visits, incident response, project work and remote support through the Service Desk. The role suits both experienced Field Engineers and those wanting to move into IT support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on-site technical support, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues
• Install, configure, maintain and upgrade IT infrastructure including desktops, laptops, servers and network equipment
• Respond to incidents and service requests in line with agreed SLAs
• Document all work and maintain client records in the PSA system
• Manage workload, prioritise tasks and build trusted relationships with clients
• Identify improvements to client systems and service delivery
• Work in line with security, safety and operational standards
• Support project delivery with Professional Services Engineers and provide remote support between visits

Required profile

• Experience as a Field Engineer, Service Desk Engineer or in a similar IT support role
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use
• Ownership of work, adaptability, organisation and attention to detail
• Confident communication with technical and non-technical audiences

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop environments
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Backup and DRaaS, Entra ID and IaaS
• Networking: TCP/IP, firewalls, routing and switching
• Desirable: Microsoft Intune, Conditional Access and Mimecast
