Professional Services Manager

About the role

Airing IT Group is looking for an experienced Professional Services Manager in Milton Keynes, reporting to the Head of Professional Services & Engineering. The role leads the Professional Services Engineering and Service Transition teams, bringing together people, delivery and customer experience so that customer projects and onboardings are delivered effectively and services move smoothly into operational support. It is a hybrid, full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop colleagues across multiple teams and locations, setting clear priorities and building capability through feedback, coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Manage day-to-day resource planning, balancing project demand, customer onboardings and delivery commitments, and keep a close eye on utilisation, availability and future demand.
• Oversee customer projects, onboardings and service transitions, providing leadership on complex or high-risk projects and ensuring smooth handovers between Solutions Consultancy, Professional Services and Service Delivery.
• Embed consistent engineering and Service Transition standards, champion documentation and knowledge sharing, and monitor performance including utilisation, delivery quality and customer outcomes.
• Support Professional Services revenue and margin objectives, reduce rework and project overruns, and use continuous improvement, automation and AI to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Leadership or management experience in Professional Services, IT project delivery or a technical services environment.
• Experience leading technical engineering and/or Service Transition teams.
• Good knowledge of project delivery, service transition and operational handovers, and confidence managing escalations.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and a passion for coaching and developing people.
• Nice to have: MSP experience, experience managing distributed or multi-site teams, knowledge of PSA, project management or service management platforms, ITIL, project governance and operational acceptance, and Microsoft, cloud, infrastructure or security certifications.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud and Microsoft technologies.
• ITIL Foundation or above.
• A relevant technology, project management, leadership or management qualification.
