Finance Apprentice – Management Accounts (3‑year)

About the role

We are offering a three‑year Finance Apprenticeship within the Management Accounts team of Bath & North East Somerset Council. The apprentice will start with fundamental finance tasks and, as they progress, take on more specialised responsibilities while completing AAT Level 3 qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day financial and resource management support for council services.
• Assist with accounting, budgeting, financial analysis and the maintenance of financial systems.
• Prepare and deliver financial advice to senior managers and attend management meetings.
• Support business administration activities during the first year of the programme.
• Gradually take on specialised finance functions as competence develops.

Required profile

• Motivation to undertake AAT training and achieve a Level 3 qualification.
• Ability to work on‑site at the Civic Centre in Keynsham and travel between council offices as required.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to develop professional finance skills.
