Finance Business Partner - Commercial

About the role

First Point Group is supporting an established telecoms company with growth plans for expansion in the UK after funding and investment. It is looking for a Finance Business Partner (ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified) who partners with sales teams and senior leadership to influence commercial decision making. This is not a financial reporting, FP&A or Finance Controller role: it suits someone who works with sales teams to improve revenue growth, profitability and performance. The position is full-time and permanent, remote with occasional travel to the office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range financial planning.
• Partner with Sales and Commercial teams on revenue, pipeline, conversion and performance.
• Provide commercial and financial insight to the CEO, Board and senior leadership.
• Develop financial models, business cases and investment appraisals.
• Assess the financial viability of growth initiatives and investment decisions.
• Monitor business KPIs and proactively identify risks and opportunities.
• Own variance analysis and performance reporting.
• Challenge senior stakeholders and promote financial accountability.
• Improve financial reporting, processes and controls.
• Translate complex financial information into clear commercial recommendations.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant.
• Strong Finance Business Partnering or Commercial Finance experience.
• Demonstrable experience partnering Sales, Commercial and/or Operational functions.
• Experience in a fast-growth or changing organisation.
• Comfortable influencing senior executives and challenging business decisions.
• Candidates must live in the UK with valid rights to work; sponsorship is not possible.

Required skills

• Advanced budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
• Business-case and investment-appraisal experience.
• Advanced Excel.
• Power BI is advantageous.
• Telecoms, fibre, infrastructure or connectivity experience is advantageous.
