Finance Business Partner – Maternity Cover

About the role

This fixed‑term Finance Business Partner position supports senior leaders at Bournemouth and Poole College during a maternity cover period. You will turn financial data into actionable insight, helping shape decisions that drive performance and support the college’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with directors and budget holders to provide financial planning and decision‑making support.
• Produce monthly management accounts with clear analysis and insight.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning processes.
• Develop financial models, business cases and scenario analyses.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve performance.
• Ensure strong financial controls, governance and compliance.
• Translate complex financial information into practical advice for non‑finance colleagues.

Required profile

• Experience in management accounting or finance business partnering.
• A recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or progress towards one.
• Strong analytical ability and confidence working with non‑finance stakeholders.
• Proactive, solution‑focused attitude with the ability to manage competing priorities.
