Finance Director

About the role

The Finance Director will join the executive team of a well‑established financial services practice in Taunton. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will act as a strategic partner, shaping the company’s growth plans, investment decisions and risk management while ensuring robust financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, reporting and cash‑flow management.
• Provide insight, challenge and direction on strategic initiatives, growth planning and operational performance.
• Maintain strong governance, internal controls and compliance across the organisation.
• Develop and mentor a high‑performing finance team to support the business’s evolving ambitions.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to translate financial data into actionable business decisions.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with senior leadership experience.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and communicate financial insight to senior executives.
• Commercially minded with a practical, collaborative approach to decision‑making.
