Finance Manager – Part‑time (3 days/week)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join a growing business on a part‑time basis (three days a week). Reporting to the Directors, you will own the day‑to‑day finance function and work closely with stakeholders to support both operational and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts, balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial reports.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting and treasury activities.
• Prepare VAT returns and support wider tax compliance.
• Coordinate year‑end processes, statutory accounts preparation and external audit requirements.
• Oversee purchase ledger, supplier payments and maintain strong financial controls.
• Monitor accounts receivable, review aged debt and support credit‑control procedures.
• Process payroll and ensure all statutory obligations are met.
• Provide insightful financial analysis to aid decision‑making.
• Support operational projects and supplier contract reviews to ensure value for money.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
• Strong management‑accounting and financial‑reporting expertise.
• Experience managing payroll, VAT and statutory accounting requirements.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of a broad finance remit.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to partner with senior stakeholders.
• Experience within an SME environment is highly advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong systems skills, preferably with cloud‑based accounting software.
