Financial Controller – French Speaking (Hybrid, Hammersmith)

About the role

We are looking for a French‑speaking Qualified Accountant to join our finance team in Hammersmith on a hybrid basis. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and the Record‑to‑Report (R2R) team, helping to embed a new ERP system and drive best‑in‑class finance processes for some of Europe’s leading frozen‑food brands.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit indirect tax reports (VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List) accurately and on time.
• Lead the preparation of local statutory accounts, coordinating with outsourced service providers as needed.
• Close the month‑end reporting cycle efficiently, ensuring all ledger entries are reconciled.
• Manage the end‑to‑end record‑to‑report cycle for assigned market entities.
• Support Group Finance in the annual and monthly accounting cycles.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, including SOX controls for the SSC.
• Oversee internal and external auditor requests and maintain strong audit relationships.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with fluency in French.
• Proven experience managing a team of accountants and third‑party service providers.
• Track record of continuous improvement in accounting, close and reporting processes.
• Hands‑on approach with the ability to delegate and supervise effectively.
• Adaptable to changing environments and able to drive cross‑functional initiatives.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of IFRS and practical application.
• Experience with VAT, Intrastat and EC Sales List reporting.
• Proficiency in ERP system implementation and usage.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with computerized accounting software.
• Understanding of Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) controls.
