Financial Controller – Lead Finance Operations

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established, multi‑faceted organisation in Oxford to appoint a hands‑on Financial Controller. You will lead day‑to‑day finance operations, support strategic decision‑making and ensure the smooth running of all financial activities across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance operations team.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Manage audit preparation, VAT and statutory compliance processes.
• Ensure strong financial controls and reporting accuracy.
• Partner with operational stakeholders across the organisation.
• Support process‑improvement and systems‑development initiatives.
• Provide financial insight and analysis to senior leadership.

Required profile

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
• Strong financial management and leadership experience.
• Comfortable operating in a hands‑on role within a complex organisation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Organised, adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Experience leading and developing finance teams.
