Financial Reporting Manager

About the role

An established UK manufacturing business is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to join its finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will combine financial reporting with planning and analysis to support senior management and drive informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and provide insightful performance analysis.
• Produce detailed financial reports and commentary for senior stakeholders.
• Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and year‑end processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and internal controls.
• Assist in the delivery of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and long‑term financial plans.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, sales and engineering teams to improve forecast accuracy.
• Build and maintain financial models to support commercial decision‑making.
• Analyse margins, operational costs, revenue trends and working capital performance.
• Support investment appraisals, business cases and ROI evaluations.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or finalist.
• Experience in a fast‑paced finance environment with tight deadlines.
• Strong financial reporting and management accounting background.
• Exposure to FP&A activities such as budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or a similar industrial sector is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy.
