About the role
The Ministry of Defence Police is seeking a dedicated Firearms Range Warden to manage the MOD 50m indoor range at RNAD Coulport. Working closely with the MDP Firearms Branch, you will ensure the range operates safely and efficiently in line with DSA 03 OME Part 3.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain range equipment, perform low‑level maintenance and non‑technical servicing.
- Manage range stores, including ordering, storing and issuing targets, ear protection and other consumables.
- Fabricate and repair target screens and penetrable targets.
- Oversee range cleanliness, scrap brass disposal and deep‑clean schedules.
- Coordinate range bookings, prepare the range for users, and brief users on procedures.
- Maintain accurate range logs, inspection records and defect reports.
- Act as Health & Safety and fire focal point, ensuring compliance with site SOPs and risk assessments.
Required profile
- Experience in managing or operating a firearms range or similar technical environment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and risk assessment processes.
- Ability to work autonomously and liaise with external units and internal stakeholders.
