Freelance Web Developer for Online Harm Projects

About the role

Moonshot is seeking freelance Web Developers to support its mission of countering online harms such as violent extremism, disinformation and child exploitation. The role is project‑based, with work arising on short notice and delivered remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain multi‑language WordPress sites, including custom page templates and layouts.
• Integrate translation workflows, language‑switching functionality and third‑party plugins or APIs.
• Develop and run front‑end features, ensuring compatibility across browsers and devices.
• Perform routine site maintenance, optimise graphics and media for performance and accessibility.
• Manage website security, including firewall configuration and Cloudflare setup.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and design teams to translate wireframes and moodboards into functional web pages.

Required profile

• Strong interest in projects that address online harms.
• Experience working on a freelance or contract basis.
• Proven ability to deliver high‑quality WordPress sites from concept to launch.
