Frontend Developer – FinTech (React, TypeScript) – Newcastle

About the role

We are looking for a Front End Developer to join a fast‑growing FinTech company in Newcastle. You will be responsible for creating intuitive, high‑performance user interfaces for advanced trading and analytics platforms used by leading financial institutions worldwide. This role offers the chance to work closely with cross‑functional teams and directly with end‑users to shape product requirements and deliver exceptional digital experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, responsive UI components using React and TypeScript.
• Integrate real‑time communication features via WebSockets or SignalR.
• Collaborate with back‑end engineers, designers, and product owners to refine requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and performance optimisation.
• Engage with users to gather feedback and continuously improve usability.

Required profile

• 2:1 (or higher) degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong recent experience with modern front‑end frameworks, especially React and TypeScript.
• Hands‑on experience with real‑time technologies such as WebSockets or SignalR.
• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration platforms.
• Enthusiasm for building clean, usable, and engaging interfaces.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a collaborative mindset.
• Interest in understanding the broader business domain; financial‑services exposure is a plus.
