Frontend Web Developer – Hybrid (Darlington)

About the role

Railpen is seeking a Frontend Developer to join its Web Team on a permanent basis. Based in Darlington with hybrid working, you will help design and build high‑performance, user‑focused interfaces for digital pension products.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers, backend developers and product owners to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Develop responsive, accessible, and secure user interfaces across multiple digital platforms.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
• Support the full delivery lifecycle from development and testing to deployment and BAU improvements.
• Contribute to technical decisions and ensure applications meet modern usability, security and performance standards.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of Microsoft‑aligned development practices and the .NET ecosystem.
• Experience working in a Microsoft‑centric environment using Visual Studio.
• Ability to debug, troubleshoot and optimise complex front‑end interfaces.
• Familiarity with content management systems and agile delivery methods.
• Legal right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
