General Foreperson – Earthworks (HS2 Project)

About the role

Join the Earthworks team on the 12.5km stretch of the HS2 West Midlands line, covering Leamington Spa, Coventry and Solihull. As a General Foreperson you will lead a crew delivering viaducts, bridges and retaining structures for this high‑profile infrastructure project.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance and control to a team of Section Foreperson, Junior Foreperson and Gangers.
• Monitor and manage the budget for MSM direct works.
• Contribute to change control processes and assist in producing contract mechanisms for cost recovery.
• Interface with other forepersons, agents, team leaders and engineering staff.
• Manage supervisory staff and participate in project steering and cross‑discipline action groups.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a General Foreperson on large civil infrastructure, specifically earthworks.
• Ability to clearly communicate and enforce a safe system of work.
• Ownership of tasks with strong communication of outcomes.
• Willingness to work unsociable hours, nights and weekends as required.
• Current UK driving licence and valid CSCS Card.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
