Geography Teacher

About the role

Hays Education is partnering with secondary schools across Wigan and surrounding areas to provide enthusiastic Geography teachers for the upcoming academic year. This role offers flexible supply assignments ranging from day‑to‑day cover to long‑term placements, allowing you to inspire pupils while fitting around your personal schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Geography lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Plan, prepare and assess work in line with the national curriculum.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners.
• Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and student engagement.
• Support pupils in achieving their academic potential.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Geography in UK secondary schools.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A genuine passion for Geography and inspiring young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Hays.

Required skills

• Effective lesson planning and delivery.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
• Proficiency in using classroom technology and resources.
