Global Financial Crimes Compliance – Monitoring & Testing Manager

About the role

As part of M&G’s Second Line of Defence, the Global Financial Crimes Compliance – Monitoring & Testing Manager provides independent, risk‑based assurance over financial crime controls. The role ensures that controls are designed appropriately, implemented effectively and operating as intended, delivering clear insight to senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver monitoring and testing reviews across financial crime risk areas using proportionate assurance techniques.
• Assess design, implementation and operational effectiveness of First Line controls such as CDD/EDD, third‑party oversight, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, governance and management information.
• Produce well‑supported findings, recommendations and high‑quality assurance reports with robust audit trails.
• Translate technical issues into concise insight for senior stakeholders, governance forums and committees.
• Contribute to management information, thematic analysis and identification of emerging risks.
• Support assurance planning by highlighting relevant risks, themes and regulatory drivers.
• Engage constructively with stakeholders while maintaining independence.
• Coach analysts and contractors, coordinate activities involving multiple subject‑matter experts, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong analytical judgement and excellent communication skills.
• Experience in financial crime compliance, monitoring and testing.
• Knowledge of AML frameworks, sanctions, CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring and related governance.
• Ability to work independently, challenge controls constructively and collaborate across teams.
