Global Indirect Tax Director – FTSE 250 Group

About the role

We are looking for a senior indirect tax professional with deep customs expertise to become the recognised global adviser for a FTSE 250 multinational manufacturing group. The role sits at the intersection of tax, finance, supply chain and commercial functions, shaping strategy that protects profitability and supports international growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a global indirect tax policy, governance and control framework.
• Provide strategic oversight of customs brokers, tax advisers and external service providers worldwide.
• Advise senior leadership on regulatory developments, risk and commercial opportunity.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Finance and Procurement to design tax‑efficient international logistics models.
• Lead customs risk management, compliance reviews and duty optimisation programmes.
• Support major transformation projects such as ERP implementations, product launches and market expansions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in indirect tax, customs and international trade within a multinational environment.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive commercial outcomes.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on profitability and working‑capital improvement.
