Graduate Building Services Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Graduate Building Services Design Engineer to join a well‑established consultancy in Cambridge city centre. The role offers a chance to work on a variety of commercial, residential, education and mixed‑use projects, developing sustainable building services solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design of mechanical and/or electrical building services systems.
• Produce technical drawings, calculations and specifications.
• Support senior engineers from concept through to completion.
• Carry out site visits, surveys and inspections.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
• Contribute to sustainable and energy‑efficient design strategies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations and best practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in building services design and sustainability.
• Good understanding of engineering principles and design processes.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Open to recent graduates and candidates with 1‑2 years of relevant experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Revit (or similar BIM software).
