Graduate Education Assistant – Primary Schools

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic recent graduates to support primary school classrooms in Leeds. The Graduate Education Assistant role offers hands‑on experience working with teachers, pupils and SEN professionals, helping you build a solid foundation for a future career in teaching or educational psychology.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 or small‑group basis within the classroom.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Help children develop confidence, social skills and independence.
• Provide additional support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Contribute to a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment.

Required profile

• Passionate about working with children and young people.
• Considering a future in teaching, educational psychology or related education careers.
• Patient, empathetic, enthusiastic and a strong communicator.
• Proactive, positive and eager to learn.
• Degree in Psychology, Education, Sociology, Childhood Studies or similar (not essential).
