Graduate Learning Support Assistant (SEN)

About the role

This graduate position supports children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) in a secondary school environment. It offers hands‑on experience for a recent graduate who wants to develop a career in inclusive education.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small‑group basis, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
• Work with children who have additional needs such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, medical conditions and other SEN profiles.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and the school’s SEN team to deliver tailored interventions.
• Maintain accurate records of support sessions and progress notes.

Required profile

• Graduate with at least a 2:2 degree (any subject, psychology preferred).
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience considered.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in special educational needs.
• Enthusiastic, confident and passionate about inclusive education.

Required skills

• Ability to build rapport with young people.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Basic understanding of SEN categories (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.).

• Paid daily rate of £95‑£104 (term‑time only).
• Full‑time, Monday‑Friday school hours (8:30‑15:30) during term.
