Graduate Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a recent graduate to join a respected secondary school in Hackney, East London. This full‑time position offers hands‑on experience in a classroom environment, supporting your preparation for a PGCE or teacher training programme.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils aged 11‑16.
• Support pupils with varying needs both inside and outside the classroom.
• Help raise attainment by offering targeted academic assistance.
• Gain first‑hand experience of school life and the teaching profession.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in any subject (education‑related degrees desirable but not essential).
• Previous experience working with young people (school, youth work, mentoring, tutoring, coaching, or voluntary role).
• Genuine interest in education and a desire to pursue a teaching career.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Available full‑time from September 2026.
