Group Financial Controller – Interim to Permanent

About the role

We are seeking a Group Financial Controller to join a fast‑growing, private‑equity backed insurance platform. This 6‑month interim position can lead to a permanent role and offers full ownership of finance operations across multiple entities and currencies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the group financial control function in a multi‑entity, multi‑currency environment.
• Own and enhance month‑end close, control frameworks and reporting processes.
• Partner with the Finance Director on M&A activity, including integration of newly acquired businesses.
• Drive improvements in data quality, processes, controls and scalability as the business expands.
• Support timely, high‑quality reporting to senior leadership, investors and lenders.
• Act as a leader of the finance function, developing capability and driving team performance.
• Contribute to broader commercial, operational and transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with 10+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong technical foundation, ideally trained in practice.
• Experience in a buy‑and‑build or M&A environment, preferably within insurance, broking or financial services.
• Proven team leadership experience – a strategic, not hands‑on, role.
• Comfortable operating in a high‑growth, fast‑paced PE‑backed setting.
• Excellent stakeholder management and solution‑oriented mindset.
