Groups & Events Executive

About the role

The Hoxton Edinburgh, its first hotel in Scotland, is looking for a Groups & Events Executive to report to the Groups & Events Manager. The role turns enquiries into groups, meetings and events revenue, managing the enquiry process from contact through to handover to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the meetings and events enquiry process end to end: answer calls and emails, send proposals, convert enquiries, invoice and take bookings through to handover.
• Negotiate meeting and events rates with clients within selling guidelines to help meet revenue targets.
• Follow up with clients after events to gather feedback and secure repeat business.
• Collaborate across departments, cross-sell global Hoxton and Ennismore properties and keep Opera Sales up to date with new enquiries.
• Prepare and distribute function sheets weekly and present them in the operations meeting.
• Conduct show rounds on property and build relationships with repeat clients, tracking year-on-year trends.
• Coordinate booked events with other departments, maintain brand knowledge and upsell where possible.
• Keep accurate daily, weekly and monthly administration and documentation on file.
• Support the sales team with marketing activities, familiarisation trips, client hospitality evenings and presentations.

Required profile

• Passion for hospitality and a desire to leave a memorable impression on people.
• Organised, able to multi-task and prioritise, with a track record of beating sales targets.
• People person who builds strong relationships and is creative in problem solving.
• Specialises in groups and events at an executive level.

Required skills

• Experience using systems such as Opera and Delphi.
