About the role
We are seeking an experienced Hazmat Instructor to lead the design, development and delivery of our specialist hazardous‑materials, drug‑lab and CBRN training programmes for fire and police emergency services across the UK. This permanent, full‑time position is field‑based and will be the primary face of Tactical Hazmat’s training operation.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and deliver hazmat training for fire service crews and specialist teams in line with NFCC Hazmat Standards and JESIP doctrine.
- Create and deliver drug awareness and clandestine drug laboratory courses for police units, covering controlled substances, precursor chemistry and safe scene management.
- Build blended learning assets, including e‑learning modules (Articulate 360/Rise), instructional videos and digital resources.
- Plan and facilitate realistic live exercises, tabletop scenarios and field simulations.
- Lead course evaluation, learner assessment and continuous improvement of content.
- Prepare accreditation documentation for awarding bodies such as RSPH, Highfield or NCFE.
- Represent Tactical Hazmat at client meetings, training events and professional forums, maintaining strong relationships with fire, rescue and police training managers.
Required profile
- Proven experience delivering high‑technical hazmat, drug‑lab or CBRN training to fire and police audiences.
- Ability to work independently in a field‑based environment and manage the full training lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of UK fire service training standards and police drug unit requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with senior training managers and operational teams.
