Head Cashier / Cashier Manager

About the role
The Head Cashier / Cashier Manager will own the legal finance function of a law firm, leading a small team to ensure compliant cashiering, payments and reporting. This senior, hands‑on position involves overseeing client and office account activity while maintaining adherence to the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily bank reconciliations, payments, transfers and system balance reporting.
- Manage client and office account transactions, including CHAPS, bill receipts and drawings.
- Lead month‑end processes, interest calculations and support the annual SRA audit.
- Supervise SAP Concur, Aderant AP and disbursement workflows.
- Handle VAT returns, residual balances and breach logs.
- Train, supervise and appraise finance team members.
Required profile
- Minimum five years’ experience in legal cashiering.
- In‑depth knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
