Head Housekeeper

About the role

Gold Care Homes is recruiting a Head Housekeeper for its new Broxbourne nursing home, located in the Lea Valley. The home offers 77 bedrooms, communal spaces and landscaped gardens, and the post is advertised as full time at £13.80 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Complete daily housekeeping records, including cleaning schedules.
• Organise domestic staff on their daily duties: vacuuming rooms and corridors, emptying waste bins, cleaning glass and mirrors, dusting, sweeping and mopping floors, and cleaning bathrooms and toilets with attention to germ and infestation control.
• Clean all allocated rooms, including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment, and ensure rooms are odour-free.
• Be aware of the COSHH health and safety statement and follow care standards and infection control regulations.
• Report faulty equipment or fittings needing maintenance, and report cleaning materials that need replacing.
• Keep the cleaning area tidy and store cleaning materials safely, and handle waste bags according to prescribed disposal rules.
