Head of Communications

About the role

King's Health Partners (KHP) is seeking an experienced, strategically minded communications leader to join the Senior Leadership Team on a fixed‑term maternity cover. The role will shape and deliver integrated communications that support the KHP Strategy to 2030 across research, education, innovation and healthcare improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communications strategies aligned with KHP’s strategic priorities, including personalised health, digital health & data science, and population health.
• Lead the KHP Communications Team and act as senior adviser to the Executive Director, Chief Strategy and Operating Officer and the wider senior leadership.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across the four partner organisations, ensuring coordinated messaging and joint communications approaches.
• Translate complex information into compelling narratives for staff, students, patients, partners, funders and other external audiences.
• Protect and enhance KHP’s reputation while navigating competing priorities across partner institutions.

Required profile

• Proven track record as a communications leader in complex, multi‑organisation environments.
• Comfortable working with senior executives, boards and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong political awareness, excellent judgement and the ability to influence across organisational boundaries.
• Experience in developing integrated communications that demonstrate impact and value.
