Head of Financial Reporting & Control (Sports)

About the role

We are looking for a senior finance professional to lead financial reporting and control for a global sports business. The role will oversee accounting, reporting, governance and compliance across multiple international entities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end close, consolidation and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for all subsidiaries.
• Review complex commercial contracts and advise on accounting implications under US GAAP, UK GAAP and German GAAP.
• Develop and maintain scalable financial processes, controls and policies to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Drive automation and continuous‑improvement projects, leveraging technology to enhance reporting efficiency.
• Manage statutory and group audits, build relationships with external auditors and support SOX compliance.
• Monitor emerging accounting standards and implement new reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant or finance professional with extensive experience in international financial reporting.
• Proven track record of leading high‑performing finance teams in a global environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to partner with business units on complex transactions.
• Excellent communication and change‑management skills.
