Head of PMO (Hybrid, £80k‑£100k)

About the role

The organisation is seeking a senior PMO Lead to join its CIO/CT&O function in Horsham. Working on a hybrid basis (three days on‑site), you will oversee a multi‑million‑pound transformation portfolio, ensuring robust governance, financial control and clear reporting for senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead PMO delivery across a portfolio of projects with an annual spend of £20‑£40 million, maintaining strong governance and delivery oversight.
• Own and manage portfolio‑level RAID, change control and dependency tracking across multiple programmes.
• Drive resource planning, forecasting and capacity management to meet delivery demand.
• Maintain financial governance, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and cost control in partnership with Finance.
• Produce high‑quality management information, dashboards and executive reports for SteerCo and Portfolio Board meetings.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading PMO functions within large, complex portfolio environments (£20‑£50 million+ spend).
• Strong background in portfolio governance, reporting and multi‑programme delivery oversight.
• Experience managing small PMO teams (typically 2‑6 analysts) in structured delivery settings.
• Demonstrated financial management capability, including budgeting, forecasting and cost tracking.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with a track record of influencing senior leadership.
