Head of PMO – Portfolio Delivery Lead

About the role

VIQU IT Recruitment is seeking a Head of PMO to lead the Portfolio Delivery team within a leading organisation’s CIO/CT&O function. The role will oversee a multi‑million‑pound transformation portfolio, ensuring governance, financial control and executive reporting. It is a permanent, hybrid position based in Horsham.

Key responsibilities

• Lead PMO delivery across a portfolio of projects (£20m–£40m annual spend), ensuring strong governance, control, and delivery oversight.
• Own and manage portfolio‑level RAID, change control, and dependency tracking across multiple programmes.
• Drive resource planning, forecasting, and capacity management across the portfolio to support delivery demand.
• Maintain financial governance including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost control in partnership with Finance.
• Produce high‑quality MI, dashboards, and executive reporting for senior governance forums including SteerCos and Portfolio Boards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading PMO functions within large, complex portfolio environments (£20m–£50m+ spend).
• Strong background in portfolio governance, reporting, and multi‑programme delivery oversight.
• Experience managing small PMO teams (typically 2–6 analysts) in structured delivery environments.
• Strong financial management capability including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with experience influencing senior leadership.
