Head of Procurement – Lead Strategic Sourcing & Transformation

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing technical services and infrastructure organisation. As Head of Procurement you will shape the procurement strategy, drive commercial value and support key business objectives across a complex operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a procurement strategy that underpins business growth, operational performance and long‑term value creation.
• Deliver sustainable cost savings, commercial benefits and supply‑chain efficiencies across a diverse spend portfolio.
• Lead procurement transformation initiatives, embedding best‑practice processes, governance and ways of working.
• Manage category management, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and continuous‑improvement programmes.
• Partner with senior stakeholders in operations, finance, commercial and business leadership to align procurement with organisational objectives.
• Support business development and tender activities through commercial insight and supply‑chain expertise.
• Identify opportunities for digitisation, automation and process optimisation within procurement.
• Oversee procurement risk, supplier performance and contract governance.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing procurement team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Provide regular reporting on performance, transformation activity and value delivery to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Significant procurement leadership experience in a complex, multi‑site engineering, technical services, infrastructure or utilities environment.
• Proven track record of delivering cost reduction, commercial value and procurement performance improvements.
• Experience leading procurement transformation programmes, including operating‑model redesign and organisational change.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing executive and board‑level audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high‑performing procurement teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience with category management and strategic sourcing methodologies.
