Head of School

About the role

The Head of School will lead the day‑to‑day operations of our Twickenham campus, reporting to the Executive Head Teacher. This senior leadership position is responsible for ensuring a safe, high‑quality learning environment that meets curriculum, health and safety, and safeguarding standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the daily running of the school site, including health and safety compliance.
• Manage the school budget and resources in partnership with the Executive Headteacher.
• Develop and implement evidence‑based improvement plans and policies.
• Recruit, retain, and allocate staff, monitoring workload and performance.
• Ensure resources are used effectively to improve educational quality and value for money.
• Uphold Equality, Diversity, Safeguarding, and Health & Safety policies.
• Lead middle leaders, foster a professional culture, and address underperformance.
• Support appraisal processes, CPD opportunities, and succession planning.
• Promote high standards of behaviour and attendance, especially for vulnerable pupils.
• Coordinate submission of written reports for student review meetings.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undergo DBS and related checks.
• Proven experience in senior school leadership or management.
• Strong understanding of curriculum delivery, health and safety, and school finance.
• Ability to develop and evaluate improvement strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

What we offer

• Competitive salary between £55,000 and £70,000 per year.
• Full‑time contract (40 hours per week, 42 weeks per year).
