Head of Supply Chain Management

About the role

A leading ambient and chilled food manufacturer in Scotland is seeking an experienced Head of Supply Chain to own end‑to‑end supply chain operations. This senior leadership position will shape strategy, drive performance and ensure safe, efficient delivery of products to meet customer demand.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the supply chain strategy to support growth and operational excellence.
• Lead and develop teams across planning, procurement, inbound/outbound logistics and inventory management.
• Oversee demand forecasting, supply planning, stock management and service performance.
• Build strong supplier partnerships focused on quality, cost, innovation and continuity of supply.
• Collaborate with operations and commercial teams to align production with customer demand and business priorities.
• Drive warehousing, logistics and distribution efficiency while maintaining high customer service levels.
• Own key supply chain KPIs, budgets, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality and regulatory standards such as BRC and HACCP.

Required profile

• Significant leadership experience within supply chain, preferably in chilled or ambient food manufacturing.
• Proven track record supplying major UK retailers in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to lead high‑performing teams and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and regulatory standards.
• Strategic thinker with a hands‑on, results‑driven approach.
