Health Visitor – Children & Families

About the role

The Health Visitor will join the Children and Families Health Visiting team at Castlemilk Health Centre, delivering evidence‑based, needs‑led care to children, young people and their families. Working within the Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) framework, you will collaborate with health and partner organisations to improve outcomes for the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality health visiting assessments and interventions for a designated caseload of children and families.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to coordinate care and support.
• Maintain accurate records, produce reports and contribute to service development.
• Promote health education, preventive strategies and early intervention in line with national guidelines.

Required profile

• Registered Health Visitor or Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Valid PVG Scheme membership and Disclosure Scotland clearance.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems and collaborate within a team.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• IT proficiency – word processing, email and internet use.
