HGV Automotive Engineering Assessor / Tutor

About the role

We are seeking a qualified HGV Automotive Engineering Assessor/Tutor to join our team in Northwich. You will mentor and assess learners pursuing apprenticeships in bus, coach, and heavy‑vehicle engineering, ensuring they achieve the required standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and mentor apprentices in Bus & Coach Engineering and Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance.
• Meet KPI targets for timely visits, accurate paperwork, and overall administration.
• Maintain an efficient diary to schedule visits and reviews.
• Organise and update documentation on learner progress.
• Provide support, advice, and motivation to overcome learning barriers.

Required profile

• Solid occupational competency in Heavy Automotive Engineering and Maintenance.
• Relevant Level 3 qualification in Engineering/HGV.
• Working knowledge of automotive engineering for HGVs and trailers.
• Experience in teaching, assessing, or training (full training provided to achieve qualifications).
• Full, clean UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
• Flexibility to travel as required and an understanding of apprenticeship programmes.

What we offer

• Permanent, full‑time contract (37 hours per week).
• Salary £38,400 – £42,400 per year, inclusive of a car allowance.
