HGV Class 1 Driver (4 on 4 off)

About the role

We are looking for a permanent HGV Class 1 driver to join our General Haulage team at the Unilever site in Leeds. You will deliver to stores and regional distribution centres across West Yorkshire, working a 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern with night‑shift options.

Key responsibilities

• Operate curtainside trailers to deliver goods to distribution centres, stores and occasional retail locations.
• Load and unload cages and perform basic loading duties.
• Carry out pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete all required paperwork.
• Maintain high standards of safety, compliance and professionalism while driving.
• Collaborate with the transport team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Adhere to Driver’s Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations.

Required profile

• Valid C+E licence with a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no DD/DR code convictions.
• Current DCPC and tachograph cards.
• Good understanding of driver‑hours legislation and ability to perform vehicle safety checks.
• Ability to follow on‑site health and safety procedures and communicate effectively.
