HGV / PSV Lecturer or Assessor

About the role

We are seeking experienced HGV and PSV lecturers or assessors to deliver high‑quality teaching and practical training to apprentices and learners across the UK. The role is home‑based with occasional local travel to assess learners on site.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging classroom and hands‑on training in heavy‑vehicle and passenger service vehicle maintenance, repair and diagnostics.
• Assess apprentices against NVQ and apprenticeship standards, providing constructive feedback.
• Coach, mentor and support learners to help them achieve their full potential.
• Manage your own diary and travel within your local area for on‑site assessments where required.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, PSV Maintenance & Repair, or a related automotive qualification.
• Current or recent industry experience working on HGVs, PSVs, buses, coaches or commercial vehicles.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training) and/or assessor qualifications (TAQA, A1/D32/D33) – preferred but not mandatory for all contracts.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally when needed.
• Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
