HGV Tanker Driver & Operator – Southwark Highway

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HGV Tanker Driver & Operator to join our crew responsible for maintaining gullies and drains on Southwark’s highway network. The role involves operating specialised tanker equipment and working closely with a small team to ensure safe and efficient drainage operations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and operate a gully tanker on designated routes across Southwark.
• Use boom and jet equipment to clean and maintain highway drainage systems.
• Collaborate with a three‑person crew on two tankers to complete daily tasks.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and road regulations.
• Report any equipment issues and assist with basic maintenance.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating a gully tanker or similar HGV equipment (preferred).
• Valid HGV licence appropriate for tanker vehicles.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to work as part of a small, coordinated crew.
